Our Qualifications

Three professionals comprise Advantage Financial Group here in Indianapolis.  They are Katharine (Kate) Marvel, Vernon (Grant) Stewart, and Gina Hitchens.

Kate Marvel:

Kate has a Bachelor's degree in finance and a Masters of Business Administration from Indiana University.

Additionally, she holds the ChFC - Chartered Financial Consultant designation and is a member of the Financial Planning Association.

Kate holds the following securities licenses: Series 6, 7, 24, and 63 and is registered in Indiana and 16 additional states as a convenience to those clients who have moved or to those who have been referred to us by our existing clients.

Kate was adjunct faculty at Ivy Tech Community College and has taught retirement planning courses at both their Indianapolis and Columbus, IN locations.  She is a former member of the board of Ball State University's Entrepreneurship Program.  She has taught financial planning for Habitat for Humanity homeowners.  She has been a Classroom Consultant for grades 1 - 6 and a Project Business Consultant for grades 7 & 8 for Junior Achievement.

She holds a life and health insurance license in the states of Indiana, Ohio and South Carolina.

Kate is a board member of Premier Capital Corporation.  Premier Capital is a Certified Development Corporation participating in fixed asset and real estate financing through the Smalll Business Administration's 504 program.

Kate is a Director and Vice President of Advantage Investment Management, the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) of Advantage Financial Group, LLC, a national association of registered representatives based out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

V. Grant Stewart

Grant began in the financial services industry in 1985.  He has offices in Indianapolis and Greencastle, Indiana.  Grant specializes in allocating lump-sum distributions, developing sound retirement strategies, including 401(k)'s and building comprehensive estate planning strategies for business owners, successful professionals, and individuals in and near retirement.

He is a graduate and member of the Indiana Estate Planners Association, and has received numerous industry awards for service excellence and leadership, most recently qualifying for the 2008 and 2009 National Planning Corporation Success Forum.  Grant is a founding member of Advantage Financial Group, LLC, a national association of registered representatives based out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  He serves as a Director and Vice President.

He holds a series 7 and 63 and securities license and is securities registered in 12 states.  He is also insurance licensed in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Florida and North Carolina.
